Export Restrictions By User Level

As a system administrator your job is to configure your user's access accordingly to meet the needs and level of security your organization requires for their data. To restrict users from downloading/exporting reports and system data you can change the Export Restriction By User Level setting.

To configure Export Restrictions follow the below steps:

  • Click your Username on the top navigation bar > Setup
  • from the left sidebar click Security > Export Restrictions
  • Now on the Export Restriction By User Level setting page select the lowest User Level allowed to export reports and data
  • Click Save when finished

Result

Users with export ability: Normal export functionality, these users will see a list of available reports or data backups available for download. They will have permission to make a selection and proceed with download.

Users without export ability: Insufficient privilege warning, these users will see a warning appear on the export and download pages instead of the normal list of available reports or data backups available for download. If these users attempt to change the Export Restriction By User Level setting, the attempt will be blocked and a insufficient privilege warning will appear (if your system has Snapforce Firewall feature, the users blocked attempt will be logged accordingly).

Note

  • The user level you select below will permit all users with greater than or equal to said user level export ability.
  • Note: To permit a single user and not the entire user class use the Module Restriction By User setting (which can restrict a single user from accessing the reports module entirely).
